Before we can change a system and introduce new digital approaches, we need to be clear about where the real complexities are. It is important to find out which of the six types of complexity are dominant. We can then develop strategies so that we focus on the points of leverage within the system. I will outline how I use systems thinking to uncover the things that really hold a project back, and how I help senior leaders engage with a learning journey. I will share experiences from my consulting work and highlight how effective it can be to adopt a systems thinking approach to resolve messy problems.
