AGENDA
Intro
A short introduction to the speakers and our current FCDO project
LLMs in Government: Opportunities, Risks and Mitigations by Dr David Gerouville-Farrell, AI Solutions Architect, works with Caution Your Blast
David will share lessons learned from a public-facing LLM-based government solution, particularly around managing risks and opportunities such as cost reduction. He’ll cover the design/implementation process including prompt engineering, LLM performance implications, mitigating/eliminating hallucinations, and why you might want to use ChatGPT without the chat!
How to conduct user-centred research in the new world of AI by Truly Capell, User Researcher, Caution Your Blast
Truly will share lessons learned from taking a user-centred approach to a public-facing LLM-based government solution, particularly around setting user expectations, combatting preconceptions of AI, and building trust. She’ll cover how she gathered perceptions, came up with novel ways to test without actually using the tech, and how to reassure users with user-tailored design and content.
