Alice Goldman Whitehead worked in policy roles in a few UK government departments before getting bitten by the digital transformation bug. Inspired by her time at GDS, she has played a role in the growth and maturity of government digital for over five years, with a particular focus on design and service ownership. Currently, she runs DLUHC’s team of internal expert business partners. She is an enthusiastic advocate for user-centred policy design and a founding member of the central government UCPD community. A historian and sociologist by background, Alice considers “digital” methods like service design, behavioural insights and user research to be 21st century evolutions of the time-old study of how objects and events are experienced.
